Plan, Create And Schedule Social Media Updates Without Getting Overwhelmed

How to build anticipation on social media

Next installment of our weekly social media series

As you know we started a series of articles to help small business owners, marketers and freelancers plan their social updates, create them, and schedule them to go live at optimal time without getting overwhelmed.

Sometimes it’s really helpful to prepare multiple pieces of content in advance. This series is about the people who work hard to build their online presence and who do not have enough time to come up with the next great posting idea

Social media is a simple way to show your readers what you’ve been up to and direct them to your site.

Share all you blog post through social media.

Most of your blog readers don’t have time to check your blog for new posts and updates.  But they do check their social accounts much more frequently and this is the perfect place to keep them updated.

On social media, you are giving your readers a small glimpse of what they will see when they get to your blog or what they can expect from your business and you should be very convincing.

Use catchy phrases.

Try to shift your strategy from merely publishing content to actively building anticipation for your next blog post/product/recipe/promotion/etc.

It’s no-brainier that using catchy words and phrases in your updates can get you much more traffic than simply stating the title of the post.  Be smart, creative and funny.  Adding catchy phrases gives you a chance to hook and entice your readers, giving them a reason to come see what your post is all about.

For example, if you are posting a recipe called “Skinny Cupcakes”, your update message can be something along the lines of : “You don’t have to feel guilty eating these Skinny Cupcakes! Only 110 calories! And taste better than it looks”

Upload a picture rather than a thumbnail.

Taking time to prepare the perfect graphic to accompany your update is a key to success on social media.

If you simply click on “Update Status” and include a link, you may receive a smaller portion of attention/traffic compared to adding a big image that will catch the eyes of your fans while they are scrolling down the wall of updates.

With DesignPro, you can make graphics for social media without Photoshop or graphic designers. Just drag & drop and your highly engaging images are ready in minutes (+1,500 ready-to-use design templates).
